I'm so happy to see Alonso off to a good start. Now not to worry that he will have such a good season that he will opt out. :-)

I'm still concerned that he can no longer get around on inside fastballs but so long as they pitch him away and he stays away from swinging at bad pitches (last year a slider away was a guaranteed swinging strike) I like the way he's changed his approach.

Thanks for reading and replying, Shaun.

I am so happy for Pete after what he endured last year. I want nothing but success for him. I know what he means to the team and to the city, and he knows what being a Met means to him. I have so much invested in his success. You can see why he is beloved by anyone that played with him or managed him.

My take on Pete is that he is more relaxed at the plate. I don't think he has the weight of the world on his shoulders anymore. After a great postseason last year, he has made his mark where he is a Met and he can do no wrong. That postseason will help him relax this year. I feel he is going to have a great year based on that along with batting behind Juan Soto.
